New Zealand Ambassador visits Ambon

NZMATES was delighted to welcome NZ Ambassador for Indonesia, Dr. Jonathan Austin, to Ambon for three days at the end of February. His busy agenda included dinner with Maluku Governor Dr. Murad Ismail, as well as sharing a meal with New Zealand scholarship alumni and a visit to recipients of Head of Embassy Funds, Heka Leka Foundation. Dr. Austin also visited the Ambon War Cemetery to pay respects to Jeffrey Michael Grave Morris, a Signalman in the Royal New Zealand Navy, who died as a prisoner of war in January 1945.

Dr. Austin was accompanied by colleagues from the New Zealand Embassy, and together with delegates from EBTKE, PLN and BAPPENAS visited some sites of NZMATES activities, and we will share more about this in additional news items.
